Is Reacher TV show worth watching?
Reacher was absolutely terrific! It's an action packed thriller that knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything else. Alan Ritchson does an incredible job as Jack Reacher, I think he's going to surprise a lot of people by just how good he was.
Reacher is rated TV-MA for violence, language, and nudity which means some material is not suitable for children and is made for mature audiences.
Amazon's take on Reacher is as solidly made as he is and delivers the rollicking yarn as efficiently as the man himself can dispatch a Glock-wielding gangster. It is great, great fun and will come as a great, great relief to the Reacher devotees who will surely – at least at first – form the bulk of viewers.
The Reacher books are Westerns in disguise and this goes a long way to explaining why they are so phenomenally popular. The books resonate with the inherent mythic compulsion of the Western genre and Reacher is the classic silent stranger who rides into town and saves the small folk from rapacious bullies.
The character's name first came to Child in a supermarket when an old lady, noting the span of Child's arms, asked for his help in reaching out to a can of pears. On seeing this, Child's wife commented that if his writing career did not work out he could "always get a job as a reacher in a supermarket".
